  • head games

    Some may remember I blew out the coolant by pass line last week and ran it hot.

    Pulled the head today, the block look good and measured out fine ( flat bar/ feeler gauge). The head was another story, I could get a .023 feelr gauge under the straight endge in the center.
    To be honest the top of the pistons were nice and clean, good old steam cleaning as it wrapped I guess
    money pit

    No spitters were I work, you swallow it all. The Company feels if you already have it in your mouth why waste it.

    wow, 23 thou.... new head time!! don't forget to port and polish!

    -"Hairlipstiva" 1991 GL 5spd (swapped from an auto), rolling on Enkei 14x6 +38 with 195/45/14 Toyo's, Jensen MP5720 CD deck, tach install, LED strip in cluster, down position rear wiper, FMS springs, Gabriel shocks on 4 corners, Acura Integra short shifter
    -Escort GT 91 donor car with BP, G5M-R tranny to be dropped in the little guy...
    -Aspire brake swap COMPLETE!

      Thanks to ebay and the internet I picked up a new head.... yes NEW as in never installed head , a "new old stock" cam, new valves and springs too.

      As for port / polish.... naaaa i need to spend the time on minigun.

        i guess minigun would be a little higher on that priority list.........
