  • Shaking Festiva Help

    Hi, I need some help/advice.
    The situation:
My Festiva is shaking when driving it. The car pulls to the left and right creating a shaking feeling when driving it. When I drive it, even at low speeds you can see the steering wheel go back and forth little bits. The problem that started last week, but was not as bad as it is now.
    Other Information:
About 3 weeks ago I replaced the front and back brakes as well as the rear bearings. When I replaced them the CV boots all looked intact, but that was then. I also just checked the wheel bolts and they are all nice a tight. The tire pressure is also good.

So What are the potential problems and what do I do to fix it?
Thank you for any help given!
    Tim

sounds like shifted belts in one or more of your tires. Look and see or rub your hands around the tread to locate bubbles, exposed wire, or tread wiggles.

I think you are a genius!!! The tire just blew! It's ok, cause I have extras. I bought the tires as a set of two, should I be looking at the other one for problems as well?

        Hey Tim,

Glad to hear you've found the problem.

Be sure to check out the Westiva meet coming up next July in Kananaskis Country AB. There's a bunch of info in the Meets & Events section. We'd love to see you there.

        Cheers

If the tires didn't fix it I would double check your bearings for tightness - they arnt the best design

Nice comments there! I would love to come to the meet in AB, the only problem being I live in BC, a bit of a drive, I will see what I can do though.
So I replaced the tire and drives great now. I am really happy it was nothing worse
