    If my water pump comes in today, I should be getting to the seals/belts replacement along with full tune up stuff, then I will be looking into the fan issue. I will certainly look into the coolant temp sensor, thank you.

      Ok since you mentioned that it only spins very slowly it seem as if your fan motor is shot. money.
      maybe good motor not getting proper voltage. (yes, it happens often)

      test the motor by applying 12 volt directly to the fan with jumpers. (look at the diagrams if there are more than 2 terminals on the fan plug.) If the fan spins fast, then you have a power supply issue - relays, wiring, grounds, ect...

      a fan motor wont last long on less than spec volts, so it may be time to change it anyway.

      invest in a volt meter...or at least some jmper wires and old headlight bulbs. this will help to test for voltage supply.


      it is common for a fan switch to provide ground at a certain temp. if that applies to this vehicle look for something called:"thermo/water/coolant/sensor/switch"
      in the fan circuit. It might be simply a loose connection there.

          make sure you really check the fan. for me i went through 3 water pumps cause the fan didnt kick on fast enough causing a chain reaction of distruction. The fan slowed down causing my plastic oe radiator to melt on the top which caused the water pump to warp the gasket causing a leak then that happened three times in 5 years. If only i knew that the fan was the problem then it would of prevented all of the money spent on new water pumps. I live in hawaii where the weather is always warm so the car really heated up real fast and the temp gauge went all the waaaay to the right for about 10mins scary!!!! Keep your eye on the heat gauge and if you notice it going pass the middle mark make sure you check if your fan is turning on. Also change the fuses on the car if you still have the stock ones on the car. Most of us run 40 30 40 fuses on the main fuse under the hood. Those old fuses cause a lot of problems and ford did a tsb regarding that. It affected my cooling fan by not allowing it to turn on or it would turn on intermettently and it would cause my car to run hotter then normal which can lead to also a blown head gasket. oh the old fuses are the wired type fuses the new one that you can use are the plug in type female fusible links that can be bought in any checker or pep boys auto center. Hope this helps
