Also, I went by Pep Boys while my second non-broken drum was in transit to see if they had one I could get quicker, and they had a drum for 27.00 dollars.

I don't know what to suggest to make it come off, but if it does, when you'll be ready to put your new bearings in, don't forget to change the races, which come with the new bearings, and for the nut, a good rule of thumb we used at the shop is to tighten it with your wrist only (don't use the strenght of your whole arm; just your wrist) and as extra precaution, I tighten it, spin the drum a couple times, slack the nut and repeat 2 or 3 times to make sure the bearing is properly seated in the race before tightening it for good.
The left lane? Are you crazy!!! I never drive in the left lane...It's full of freaks driving the wrong way and charging right at you!!!

Can't you hammer the brass nut with a flathead screw driver into the axle slot/crease to keep the nut from backing off?

ok mission accomplished. now i need someone to help me bleed the brakes.

off topic, but i found 2 escort hatchbacks with the cargo lights.. they both work but i cant get them to work when connected to the cargo light wires in the rear, any suggestions?

                Check the Interior Fuse?

Correct, if your dome light works then the fuse is good, maybe check the ground in the hatch latch.

in the hatch latch? like to the latch itself? i recall seeing latches [FS] on here with wires run to them, i dont think mine has that though. how do i get around that? i do have a single connector in the hatch and a 2 wire connector in the hatch, where the wiper motor would be, is the 2 wire connector for that latch?

The latch itself has a single wire that gets plugged into the harness in the hatch if it is there. I do not know how to bypass it.

Sandm849 is parting out a '88LX in the For Sale section, see if he has the latch and wires you need.

if its a single wire, the single wire i just talked about then wouldnt it be a ground? then i should be able to ground it out to the body, right?

Ground out the wire and see if it turns on the cargo light, if it does its your wire, but I believe if you grounded it to the body then the light would constantly be on.
