Where do you suppose this fell off from?

I jacked it up and shook the wheels. No large amount of play.

The wheels didn't spin freely. So I'm guessing the bearings aren't shot.

okay, so that wheel moves in ways other than a normal driving rotation?

I could have sworn wheels are supposed to have some drag to them when you spin them and not free spin like crazy.

I've done the rear bearings twice now. I think the last time was about 40k miles ago, I'd have to check my book to make sure.

I hope you aren't taking this personal. Nothing to suggest you aren't doing anything correct.

I pretty much tighten mine just past where the side-to-side movement stops. going too tight just wears them out quicker.

^^ True that. Didn't mean anything by what I posted. I took the phrase "the wheels didn't spin freely" to mean they didn't spin as they should.
