just got in from the little time I have these days to figure the car out. I pulled the electrical plugs off the injectors. put a multi meter on the connections with the multi meter black lead to ground and found 12+volts with key on and 8.75 volts or so when key is turned in to the position where the motor is cranking. Does this info tell anyone more experienced what is happening here?

that's normal... what you need to get is a noild light set and watch for blinking. if there's no blinking on ANY of the injectors, you have a driver issue which means new ECU (used). if only half the injectors blink, inspect the harness for a break between the injector harness and ECU.
