  • gerrr festiva problems once again please help!

    again... my festiva has issues...

tomo im going to try an intake manifold swap but there are some things that confuse me?

when i grab the pcv valve and rip it out of the valve cover, while the motor is running, the idle dies down. is this normal?

secondly, i had my vent for my blow by going into my air intake and today i found a puddle of oil under neath my air filter, and oil all over my air intake

how could a n/a motor have this much blow by? could something be causing this other then low compression?

i did a compression test and my numbers were around 160 on all 4 cylindres. what are the standard compression numbers on a mazda b6?

thanks for the help in advance.

The PCV is suppost to ventilate crank case pressure. If the pcv is bad then most likily it is causing the blow by I assume.

what you're saying about the PCV doesn;t make sense. if you pull the PCV you should be creating a vac leak, not fixing one, so the idle shoule go UP. the blow by hose should be attached to a vac source via a catch can, not you're intake hose, that's why you're seeing oil in your air box.

I believe mine ties into the intake piping, not the air box. Let me go get a pic. BRB.
