What kind of condition are the plugs, wires, rotor, and cap in??? How are you checking for spark?

Has caught the most Festivas on Fire on this board!!

Remove the disty cap and watch the rotor while someone cranks it. If it doesn't turn, you have a broken timing belt.

Another good posibility, but just a quick thought, does the inertia switch just kill the fuel pump, or does it kill spark too?

That could be another thing to check, the switch is located under the rear drivers speaker panel and to reset it, simply push the red button

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

If your distributor rotor turns, and you have spark, and all fuses you check are good, try pushing the inertia switch button in your left rear inside area. That disconnects the fuel pump in case of an accident.

After that, check for fuel to the engine by pulling one of the FI hoses to the fuel rail. If you aren't getting fuel, then there are several things that could be wrong.

Do you have a shop manual or at least a Haynes manual for your car? Very good to have!

Oops! I reread your first post--you have no spark! Duh me.

Anyways, welcome! I hope you get her running soon so you may enjoy the Ultimate Saving Machine!

it is not getting spark from the coil. i checked it with the old screwdriver in the boot trick. it was sitting for around 2 months. it is getting power to the coil at the black and white wire and the ignition module is getting power.

The two minute run is a hopeful sign I guess.

One thing you might do is to get another coil mount with everything on it and replace yours with that. See what happens. Yep, that's more of a "shotgun" approach to troubleshooting.
