  • Radiator fit

    Hello,

Just curious if the radiator/fan assembly from a 90 Festiva will work in an 89?

The 89 is an automatic with fuel injection. Not sure what the 90 is, I'm still trying to get the specs.

    I appreciate any help!

Automatics have dual core radiators and integrated ATX cooling lines.

You can use the 90 radiator but you'll need a separate ATX cooling radiator (found for about 30 bucks at McParts stores).

So if the 90 is an automatic, I should be all set?

      Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, any year automatic radiator can go in any festiva.
        No festiva for me ATM...

Let us know! We like pics too, even for a simple radiator swap.

LOL... will do. I'm not a master mechanic by any stretch of the word, but I do like to dabble. Plus, I'd really like to start saving some cash on gas

Hey, while I have your attention, the speedometer and mileage doesn't work on the 89. Is that typically a speedometer cable? If so, would one off a 90 work?

              Thanks.

Don't forget you can add a separate trans cooler to the manual trans radiator. Like I said, kits for auxiliary trans coolers are about $30.

Thanks McNasty! If it works out, I'd like to pickup this weekend if possible as I get paid on Friday.

I noticed that the aux trans cooler is a universal one. What is the difficulty in adding one? I usually like to stick to the what goes in is exactly what comes out type, plus I don't have a lot of tools to get to crazy.
