So not long after I got the car it started to get bad belt slip noise under acceleration. While repairing some other things I replaced the Alternator belt which I believe was the source of my noise.. All was good, then a few hundred kms of driving later, it starts slipping & squeeling again. I put up with it for a bit, but seemed to come & go so I didn't stress.
Now on my drive home this morning I could smell rubber pretty bad, assumed it was slipping & burning. Half way home the Charge Battery light came on the dash, and when I got home I noticed the car was running near hot.
I popped the hood & found the alternator belt gone completely.
What happened & how do I fix this?
