So I just had my steering rack replaced Monday, it was a used one, and I noticed that my turn radius seemed to be larger while pulling into a parking space. I figured it was just that the old one being so loose and the new one being tighter or something, I don't know a whole lot about this stuff. But then I noticed that I could make a tighter turn to the right than to the left.
So, I tested it out in a parking lot and sure enough my left turn was a lot wider than the right and I can turn the steering wheel about 1.25 turns to the left and around 2.5 to the right.
The shop isn't open until monday so I figured I'd check with you guys. This isn't dangerous is it? What could be the cause? Is it alignment, or the steering rack was not put on correctly? They did align the car in the shop. They should offer to fix it at no charge to me right?
