Also check the tension on the ebrake cable, you can adjust it by loosening the bolt on the top of the cable when you take off the cover... It may be soo tight that it is causing the light to stay on even when it's in the down (off) position... -KyleCosmic Blue 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 - Mostly Stock...

"BRAKE" light on continuously means no brake fluid
I had this happen ("BRAKE" instrument panel light on continuously) on one of my 88s, and it had nothing to do with the handbrake. It had a slow fluid leak and was down to almost nothing in the brake reservoir, i.e. imminent total brake failure. The light is on continuously and you think it's just a handbrake switch problem, check again!88L black, dailydriver
