'90 L-Plus, factory motor, swapped to a 5 speed from an auto (it did this both before and after the swap)
This is a pretty intermittent problem, and when it does pop up, I can kill the motor for literally one second, then fire it back up and its good to go for a while. Tried swapping the coil today with the known good one from Green Car, but it still does it. I haven't gotten the ignition module yet since I was in a hurry this morning and it was raining and I couldn't find my phillips bit for my screwdriver... lol. But I'm really getting annoyed by this since its the only thing keeping me from driving Chuck daily. He's good enough for getting to and from my day job, but on my pizza days I can't have him choking out every few minutes. Still pulls strong up to ~2500ish (no tach in it at the moment, but thats what it was doing back before I switched the cluster into Babystiva) but that point it just falls on its face. I can still drive it when it does it, just have to shift at 2500 because it won't get past that. Any guesses? In neutral when its doing it, I can mash the gas to the floor and it will rev up to 2500 and just bounce, just like I used to bounce it off of 7200 with the BP lol. Cap, rotor and plugs are new (haven't done wires yet, they weren't in stock). I've switched fuel pumps with Green Car (known good) and that didn't help, and the fuel filter is less than two years old. Any guesses?
