My exhaust is currently pieced together from parts bought at autozone. I was wondering if anyone knows of a part number or if a full exhaust is even available. I need everything basically behind the manifold. I do not have access to a welder at home, but I am tempted to buy a MIG welder from harbor freight.

Here are photos of what I recently bought from NAPA for about $150 including shipping -- cat to rear can. It's an exact match for the original, including the brackets. The rear can is another $50 or so -- I've bought several of them for various Festies over the years.
Why would you want a single-piece "custom" system requiring you to do cutting and welding when the rear can rusts out every few years? With the original system, you simply remove two bolts to replace the can in 10 minutes.Last edited by AlaskaFestivaGuy; 11-26-2011, 06:01 AM.88L black, dailydriver

BTW, I got a new Festy muffler this year for $28 at Advance Auto!
Recommend you use all new gaskets and also stainless steel fasteners.Last edited by TominMO; 11-26-2011, 10:46 AM.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

If people don't (continue to) buy these aftermarket assemblies from outfits like NAPA (or whoever makes them for NAPA), they're going to -- sooner or later -- stop offering them. It's simple "Business 101."88L black, dailydriver

So the 90deg pipe that comes off the mani is one piece with the cat? The way mine is set up right now, the 90 is cut right under the oil pan. If I can get away without buying a cat, it would be nice(no testing in Michigan).2002 Ford Mustang GT Mineral Grey 5 spd

jjk,
The downpipe from the exhaust man to the front of the cat is its own part that attaches to the front of the cat using a pair of special spring washers that go on studs that screw into (and should stay in) the front of the cat. The original downpipe is very well built. I've never had one go bad.
brian,
That's an amazing price for aft-cat to rear can. Are you sure it includes the proper hanging brackets and shipping?88L black, dailydriver
