  • Festiva full exhaust?

My exhaust is currently pieced together from parts bought at autozone. I was wondering if anyone knows of a part number or if a full exhaust is even available. I need everything basically behind the manifold. I do not have access to a welder at home, but I am tempted to buy a MIG welder from harbor freight.

they are available but you may be further ahead taking it to an exhaust shop and having them make the exhaust for you.

If you were closer, shipping might be worthwhile. I've got a full exhaust with no home.

Here are photos of what I recently bought from NAPA for about $150 including shipping -- cat to rear can. It's an exact match for the original, including the brackets. The rear can is another $50 or so -- I've bought several of them for various Festies over the years.

Why would you want a single-piece "custom" system requiring you to do cutting and welding when the rear can rusts out every few years? With the original system, you simply remove two bolts to replace the can in 10 minutes.

I agree with Alaskafestivaguy. It's just kind of cool when it looks like it did from the factory. Original hangers and all. Plus it bolts together easy. If I did something high performance I would go with something bigger.

Big +1. That's exactly what I did on my Aspire and it went together very easily. Cat, B-pipe and muffler. Plus, before I put it together, I sprayed everything with hi-temp ceramic paint for added durability.

BTW, I got a new Festy muffler this year for $28 at Advance Auto!

Recommend you use all new gaskets and also stainless steel fasteners.

If people don't (continue to) buy these aftermarket assemblies from outfits like NAPA (or whoever makes them for NAPA), they're going to -- sooner or later -- stop offering them. It's simple "Business 101."

^^but for us guys that swap bigger engines want bigger exhaust pipes those pipes just dont work, and for me, custom is the way to go

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

So the 90deg pipe that comes off the mani is one piece with the cat? The way mine is set up right now, the 90 is cut right under the oil pan. If I can get away without buying a cat, it would be nice(no testing in Michigan).

                            jjk,

The downpipe from the exhaust man to the front of the cat is its own part that attaches to the front of the cat using a pair of special spring washers that go on studs that screw into (and should stay in) the front of the cat. The original downpipe is very well built. I've never had one go bad.

                            brian,

That's an amazing price for aft-cat to rear can. Are you sure it includes the proper hanging brackets and shipping?

It has the metal pieces sticking out for the rubber hangers. It doesn't come with the rubber pieces. Add 20.00 to 30.00 for shipping. It is an exact spittin image of the original. Mines hangin under there right now. Great deal.
