Good quality ATF the Dextron type.Not type F. Its what the FORD manual calls out for.Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

i havent actually checked the trans fluid in any of my festivas iv had. i was told that you pull the speedo cable from the trans and there a dipstick of sorts on the end. looks like it was a good thing i was following this thread. now i know the right way to do it.Rod
