lol, well, I would probably do the wet test, but I've been working on it (taking my time labeling everything) and now I don't have an intake to make it go full throttle! I was thinking about hooking an air hose straight to the spark plug holes and listen at the exhaust and intake ports and at the oil dipstick for leaks @ tdc of each cylinder before I actually take the motor out, not sure if i'll actually do it, just depends on how much free time I get between now and next chance I get to pull the motor the rest of the way out.

If you do a poor mans leak down test and the rockers and all are still in place
you have to balance the cylinder being tested exactly at TDC firing stroke,
Do not leave bar on engine as if you miss TDC by a little that bar can hurt
things or you! Don't forget to remove the check valve..Reflex paint by Langeman...Lifted...Tow Rig

I'm not sure how many times it rotated, probably 10-20 times? it took 3 or 4 rotations for the gauge to build up to 17x, then my "assistant" held it down for another 5-10 seconds?Last edited by zoom zoom; 01-12-2012, 11:17 AM.2008 Kia Rio- new beater

What is WOT

Wide open throttle? >.<
Your numbers are average. Nothing to worry bout bad/good. The best test by far is a "Leak down" test. Google it,you'll soon see its advantages/superiority.
PS zoom I got that Aspire with the Sun roof. Some people like to read fiction,I prefer to read repair manuals. Weird I know-

Yah but I won't be able to get the engine warmed up, I've removed all the coolant/radiator/heater core hoses and all vacuum/coolant lines and half the wiring, if I could get the engine "warmed up" I would.. I'm not really sure that it could be considered accurate if I did this cold, otherwise I'd drop some oil in, hook up the starter, and go to town.2008 Kia Rio- new beater
