Everyone wins here, but I feel like the real winner today. I put $5 in it and brought it to 1/4 of a tank! Who can do that today except festy owners? lol

Awesomeness happens regularly, I think we all won, we got a new festy owner who is soon to fall in love and get addicted to all the $ he's saving on gas!Originally posted by Movin View Post^^ Win!?? we are still wondering about that "happens regularly" thing LOL
/e speaking of, a festy popped up fs on the main drag on the way to where I work, I'm gonna go look at it tomorrow, from the outside it looked like it's in great shape! Aqua with a decal on the side!Last edited by zoom zoom; 01-15-2012, 08:38 PM.

I just had the same problem. Not enough battery to turn it over.

People confuse the cylinder layout (#1 for #4, etc.) Definitely something to look for before thinking about compression tests. LOLOriginally posted by Movin View Post^^ Win!?? we are still wondering about that "happens regularly" thing LOL
The good news is that he got it running

I win'd
Even if the wires were reversed 2 cylinders should still be firing close enough to right to get the car rollin, so obv it was the dead battery+jumper cables!

Update: the plug wires were reversed, so I put them in the right place, put my fiancee's battery in it and after a few tries and feathered some gas to the fuel injection and it finally turned over. As it was running, I took her battery out put my dead one back in to charge and drove around for bout an hr. I shut it off, and tried to turn back over but it was deader than a doornail. So ill be getting a battery and I should be good. Thanks again for all the help!

Good call!! Hopefully it doesn't happen regularly to theOriginally posted by perucho View PostWhat do you mean by "clicking"? You say it's only clicking but then also say the timing belt is turning and that you are getting spark. That doesn't make any sense. Usually when people say clicking, it's the sound the starter makes instead of turning the flywheel when the battery is low. Nothing would rotate and you would not be able to confirm spark or see the "gears" moving.
Could you be a bit more specific?
Also, the firing order may be correct on the dizzy cap but are they going to the correct plugs? Meaning, where is your plug #1 on the head? You may have started at the wrong end. Happens regularly.

also, i see in your profile pic that you still have the "wire" fusible links. do yourself a favor and invest in some cartridge fuses, its a 2 second installation and should save you alot of headaches down the road. the proper fuses are 30A, 40A, 30A. BTW, good luck getting her running, once you experience a festy you'll be in love!!!! especially the first time you put gas in it

Don't feel bad about it. Like I said before, it happens very often!Originally posted by vacustode03 View PostSo, i have it backwards. If I change the order and it fires right up im gonna slap myself. Lol
When you said clicking I understood it was not cranking (or turning over - a phrase not usually used to describe an engine running). Hopefully getting the plugs in the right order will get you going.
