  • car dieing

I have a 90 L plus that I just finished rebuilding after hitting a deer going 70mph. Ran good but now it dies when you touch the pedel. Car starts and idles fine but you can only barely touch the gas or it dies. Did tune up plugs wires thermostat. Any suggestions would b great.

    Don't ever hit another deer!
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

Check your VAF plug. The 7 wire plug going to the top of the airbox. I bet when you put things back together it ended up down underneath the airbox and never got plugged back in. I've done it many many times, and it can cause the exact symptoms you described. Also, '90 L-Plus has the best interior of all festivas ever! Love mine!
        No festiva for me ATM...

With the VAF unplugged, it will only start up and run for a second, then die. Maybe the TPS isn't functioning right?

After a 70 mph whack check the box and piping for cracks. Then look inside and make
sure the door swings freely. Make sure none of the wire looms got pinched or
wires pulled from inside plugs where you cannot see.

How's the fuel system? How long did it sit after you hit the deer? Clogged fuel filter could make it act like that.
