I figured out an easy way to flush the system in the summertime, just loosen the lower radiator hose enough for it to leak a little, and drive it like that for about a month, making sure to top off the water every time you start the car! When my water pump seal failed the heat comming out got hotter and hotter, now its hot enouh to scorch your hand on the steering wheel!2008 Kia Rio- new beater

This method isn't as thorough as a flush but I just drain and refill over a week or two (summer) until it comes out clean. In the winter you would have to wrap it up in one day. At least you don't have to disconnect or remove anything. Make sure the heater is on at least once to flush it.Comment
