Remove the cover entirely for testing purposes, and as you are the
tester, keep yours and all others fingers out of there while running
the engine. Monitor the leaks while using the car as you normally do.
You should spot the leak(s) sooner or later. Front crank seal,
dip stick tube, front of oil pan, cam seal and valve cover seal
can all contribute. Check that the PCV system is capable of handling
the crankcase blow-by without building pressure behind gaskets and seals.
Clean the area thoroughly, replace all parts you wish to renew then
monitor once more to verify a dry engine. Finish however you wish!
Paint, airbrushed stick figure scenes on the cover whatever

I don't have the top cover on any of my three cars. One of them doesn't have the bottom one either.

              ^ +1 on the CD2, i love that stuff!!!

DO NOT run thicker oil to stop a leak, thicker oil = higher oil pressure = more pressure on seals = faster leaks.
