Even a stripe of brazing on the bottom side would work, and that plug chaser
would fix the thread. That chaser is old ford plug thread and most other plug
thread.
A two wire O2 could be used with a ford plug helicoil and the ground ran to the head

Weld, drill, tap. Or weld another bung over it. Won't make too much difference on a stockish car, the o2 has limited function anyway.Comment

Went by the JY and got an Aspire manifold. Easy to get it off, since I had grabbed the downpipe from this particular car before. Two heat shield bolts rusted on, so I had to destroy the shield to get at the manifold-to-head bolts. But those came off really easily. And I have my old heat shield, which is good.
Before yanking it, first of course I checked the O2 sensor threads. The old O2 sensor came off really easily and the bung's threads were in good shape. $11 for the manifold; now just need the two gaskets.
BTW, the Fel-Pro #60286 fits the downpipe flange on all Festys, Aspires and 86-89 323s.90 Festy (Larry)--B6M (Matt D. modified B6 head), header, 5-speed, Capri XR2 front brakes, many other little mods

The JYs around here are pretty good. And for $11 (plus the $1 entry fee :-)) it's the cheapest fix available.
