hard to set when it does not idle is the choke closed when cold or opened,mines opened when cold

It should be closed when cold. It's better opened when cold than closed when warm. Crank open that plastic idle knob until it will stay running. Trying to replace all the stuff that a doofus removed is a nightmare if it wasn't included with the car. I would drive another car until you get it squared away.Comment

it is open when cold it never closes but if i close it with my hand then it will idle the carb is rebuilt but i have two old carbs and there both closed and the spring feels tighter than the one on my new carb is real loose. should i just try to sell the feedback carb and buy the weber one ?Comment

The choke being stuck open is no big deal since it's Summer. Did you crank the idle screw up yet?Comment
