The key is working because if it wasn't, you wouldn't get a bit of spark at all.

New coil.

New coil wire.

Solid 12V at coil

Still weak spark.

This needs some stewing...or a FestYboy!

To answer an earlier question. I do have 12v on both sides of the coil. And still no spark... So to summerize I have replaced - Cap, rotor, plug wires, coil, battery, and ignition switch.

Going with this list, no you do not need the key part of the ignition switch replaced.

The igniter or ignition module and the pickup coil need tested.

First step would be to pull the disty and ground the housing, plug all
connectors in, position wire at coil tower for testing. Turn key on and spin
the disty shaft while keeping the housing grounded and staying clear
of the test area!! What happens??

Is there anybody that you can borrow a known good disty from? Switch it out and see if it runs.

IMO, it is the module inside the dist. and are availble on ebay, usually under $50.

Of course you could do what I did. Go to a pick it yourself junkyard, by a disty for $35.

It ran my Festy for 2 yrs until the engine said......Phffffttt!

Finally got a new ignition module!! And no it didn't help. Is there a ballast resistor somewhere that I'm not seeing? Or is it built into the ignition module? I guess it could always be the new coil too, though napa usually has good parts. I'm so mifed at this point.

Truns out that the new coil that I used was bad... Wow thanks for all of the fun Napa!! Thank you all for your help, the festy lives again.
