I was only commenting on the axle seals, referencing what someone else posted on here about their experience with them, nothing more.

Exactly, they go in where the axle goes, that is all it takes to hold them up, or a broom handle run through them, or a zip tie....Contact me for information about Festiva Madness!

I bought a Rotunda tool set off of Ebay a few years ago, that came with those plugs.
For the longest time, I never even heard of the spider gears falling, and did a lot of Transaxle swaps with used trans in many a car without taking any precautions, and never had a problem. I do NOT suggest you follow that line, though.
The point is, almost anything through there should do the trick. It is my understanding all is OK, unless both axles are removed. Also, one plug is, I think, enough to protect, using both keeps fluid drips down.
Still, if you take out both axles, and run a long zip tie in one hole, and out the other, then zip it tight, that should be just fine.
Here, let me run outside real quick, and upload a photo...Contact me for information about Festiva Madness!

Any circular object, really, as long as it is about this size, or a little less....

Shoot, the one pic didn't upload, with the cap in.
Anyway, if you were to add another ziptie or two, and then just tie it around the trans, it would hold the spider gears in place. Or tie a good piece of string real tight, whatever.Contact me for information about Festiva Madness!
