i keep blowing my 10amp METER fuse either when i start my car or after ive been going down the road a few minutes. I have never blown a single fuse in this car since i bought it a year ago until i disconnected the battery and then reconnected it. the cable arced slightly when i reconnected it. its only the METER fuse and i have checked the main ground off the battery. i dont know what to do next electrical systems aren't my strong point

are you talking about the 3 wires on the strut tower under the hood? If so they are 30, 40, 30 if replaced with cartridge fuses. More info about your car is needed. Festiva? Aspire? manual or auto? etc.'88 Festiva L, stock carby engine (with exhaust upgrade), 4 speed tranny. Aspire Struts and Springs, Capri 14" wheels, interior gutted, battery in back

The meter fuse energizes the backup lights, timer/buzzer, seat belts, turn and hazard sw, and cooling fan relay. I've heard about on this site a circuit breaker that can replace the fuse while you trace the circuit (black/yellow wire) for shorts to ground. Hope it's something simple.
