    I'm having problems again! Same thing is happening... not starting. BUT it did start up and is blowing a good amount of white smoke and runs very rough. Any more suggestions??

      You probably flooded engine attempting to start with bad component. For sure change your plugs.And you should be looking at how old the other components are. Wires,cap rotor,Ign Module....

        Trees aren't kind to me...

        currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
        94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

              Ha! I didnt realize there was a 30 day gap between "Its the Coil" & "Back to having problems again"

                Yeah, he got the plugs but after the disti fixed his problem, he decided to hold off on putting them in. He'll try that and let you know what happens.

                  Ya well Festyboy has a point. Especially considering there is a 30 day gap in between, "Its fixed" & its "Not fixed".

                    Neither of us have the tools to do a compression test. That's going to be on him to figure out if he has a bad cylinder.

                      Jeremy, I have a compression gauge. Also, you can get one from Autozone as a loaner, and the test is Uber easy. Don't you have my number? Gimme a call after 4PM anyday! 513-ASTRO-42 for my google voice, goes to my phone!

                          There is a ground wire that could be the cause of inconsistent starting. I believe it is in behind the distributor. I am not sure if it's grounded to the engine block or transmission.
