insane engine problem!

OK, this problem is on my dad's 90 FI. there is oil in the radiator. we replaced the head gasket and flushed it out and the oil keeps coming back. it is also loosing water. we replaced the radiator and several hoses that have busted. there is no visible steam coming out of the exhaust. it still runs perfectly, but it's starting to get annoying. and my dad is afraid the oil will start to deteriorate the rubber hoses and water pump seals ( this theory is strengthened by the busted hoses). we have no idea whats wrong, other than a cracked head/block. any other suggestions?

when you replaced the head gasket,
did you have the head checked out by a machine shop too?
and was the head milled?

no, but we could not see any scratches, cracks or anything else.

you can't see a warped head

there was a reason you replaced the head gasket in the first place
and head gaskets fail for a reason
and only replacing them , will not make the problem go away

got oil in my radiator too, but its because my engine has a hairline crack in it, really messes with the cooling of the engine.

a warped head would have us doing the exact thing that we don't want to do: buy a new head. wouldn't it? anyway, my parents have spent plenty on it and aren't inclined to spend much more. parts for festys are ridiculous! :evil:

There are several heads on here for sale cheap ,some used ,1 completely rebuilt
Nonamekid has 1 used
BROKEFESTIVA has 1 that has been completely gone thru ready to bolt on

parts are rediculous if you go thru ford. if its not TOO bad of a warped head a machine shop could easily mill it down within specs for you. i had to have mine done not too long ago. i think they only charged me 20 bucks...its not expensive

they may be able to do it cheap, but you still gotta pull the head off of it to get it done! and we're still not sure if it's the head or the block. it could be either one.

The head is most likely the culprit. It is aluminum. You can't run a festiva hot!

Junkyard engines are very cheap. You can probably find a B3 or B6 for cheaper than it would cost to mill the head flat.
