Finally finished my pesky problem:
1. Coolant was a little low.
2. Thermostat was not full opening, because the aftermarket temperature gauge I installed has a much larger temperature probe than the fan switch probe. Pulled thermostat out and left temp probe in to slow waterflow.
3. Bought a bigger fan, BUT could not mount it or the original fan shroud because there is no room. I made a custom shroud.
Results:
After topping off water the car heat still climbed.
After thermostat removal the heat Gaige would show slow rise to 210.
After fan shroud, temp stays at 180 sitting at idle for extended time.
I am still amazed on how tiny the stock radiator is.
Ready to race!
