  • A/C conversion ?

How much would it take to have a/c in my car it came with no a/c. Is it even worth it? And what donor cars can I take the parts from? Thanks

I did it. I believe it was worth it. It was a pain in my case to route the A/C lines around my power steering lines. You can just take the complete A/C sytem and wiring from any A/C Festiva at the junkyard, and just transplant it. Make sure you use the exact size crowfoot wrenches on the fittings + lots of Mazola oil (penetrating fluid). I ruined one compressor by snapping the aluminum threaded connector off. You need a baby hammer to break up any seized fittings before turning. You really should relace every O-ring seal on every connector. They are cheap and I bought them in a box at Ford parts. You must be very patient when taking apart pieces that have been screwed together for over 20 years. Southern systems are preferable.

Here is a picture of what the air conditioner looks like installed in the dash.

You will have to do a search for the engine compartment picture.

It's a small car, you may not need 5000.
