  • Dome Light

So I have no dome light! I do have the wire, and the connector is bad, I can plug the tester in and ground it and it works but only if it goes through and touches the wires. So first I will strip this out and make a new connection, but I want to put LED's in. And I want to cover the whole up with some type of a switch. I don't want an ugly switch inside because it would be ugly. LOL so do youo have any ideas of what type of switches? any pictures? Have any of you dont this? I am not to worried about making it come one when the door is open, so it does not need to be connected to any switch's there in. So this wire works just fine for me. So how else would you wire it beside a switch? I am open to ideas. I am also looking to be as cheap as possible. But I want it done so i will spend money if I have too

    Thanks

Upgrade to the Escort Dome light. Comes with two map lights too! I have one in tan...and I know there are a couple others in grey for sale here on the forum. Under 15 bucks. You can purchase LED bulbs for the lights that would go in it.

What about LED strips? so I could put a different color in there. Or a multiple color one? I should have mentioned that, I am sorry.

      Thanks

Don't think strips would go in there. I was thinking more a long the lines of bulbs like these.

Those would work for the most point, But i do not have that connector anymore, just the female plug in that only has two slots for prongs. So the plugs you show there i would need to add a wire on top of it. I do not have a picture and can not find one online yet. But it is a good idea to start with. Thanks

                Re: Dome Light

Jacob, you can buy a 24-LED panel at Auto Zone for $17 that plugs in to the original housing but is 30x brighter! I have one in my car. It's well worth the price.

And the regular type LED bulbs do come in colors. I have a blue one in my Escort Dome Light.
