sensor on bottom of festiva 5 speed. FIX WHAT IS IT?

cool thank you , ive looked around on here thought I found what the neutral switch did , but I cant find it again...

but so I know it has to do with the shift light , unsure how exactly its suppose to function and how it will function being unhooked , but what other function does it has? Guessing it only allows you to start the car when its only in neutral?

I read around on a good search that fifth gear switch function deals with EGR when in fifth gear , which the festiva doesnt have egr , and also on some vehicles from what was said that it changes the fuel mappings a little when you go into 5th?

just wondering has anybody noticed any mpg difference plugged in vs unplugged along with performance differences. Just wanting to know if its worth me bothering with or not , along with the cost of the switch , how it all works so I can make that decision.
