Detonation is the enemy. I have one worse than this I pulled out of an 89 auto car that actually blew a hole through the piston. I have extra rods and pistons if it didn't damage the cylinder wall and you decide to rebuild that bottom end.
If a hammer doesn't fix it you have an electrical problem

The wall looks fine so far will know more when I pull the block and the crank. I'm going to rebuild if everything is ok.

Can you remove the engine without pulling the tranny on these cars?

Where's the best place to get a master rebuild kit? I've looked at rockauto and also autozone but If I'm going to spend that much money I wanna make sure I get the best stuff I can for the money.

call up Matt Dickmeyer, he can get you to 100+hp for just a little more $ and still keep the same or better MPG

pistons, lighter rods, some head work and a cam if you want. the head work isnt difficult and the pistons and rods are bolt in parts. just with some head work (my own), i'm in the 75 WHP range (stock is 63 at the crank, now i'm making 10+ more at the wheels)

Might check into that. It's just my work car so I'm not really after power as much as I am a reliable car. It's got 352,000 on it.

just remember, power (to a point) = efficiency for a given displacement. if you have 2 b3 engines, one makes 63hp and the other 103hp, the 103hp engine is more effecient.

I can't decide whether to bore out to bigger pistons or just hone. A guy priced me $85 for a valve job today is that a bad price?
