ok my 91 needs a new belt ( squealing) but i think the person wwho owned it before me put in in backwards the bumps on the belt are facing the the other way which is right?

ok the belt i got i think is wrong. the one i bought had rounded teeth but the one that was on had rectangle teeth dose it matter?

When I bought my Festiva it had a belt with square notches on the back side instead of where it rides on the pulley. I also had one on my AMC Eagle. They weren't as deep as the ones that face the pulley. You can tell by the shape of the belt, the V goes towards the pulleys. well mine looked like this FORD-FESTIVA-WA-13L-4-Cyl-8v-91-94.jpg so i dont know if i should try to find a belt thats the same or replace it with a newer version

As long as it's the right size, it doesn't matter.

The notches or teeth or cogs which ever you wish to call them serve two purposes. 1. to make the belt more flexible 2. to assist in cooling.
