That's quite low indeed. My B6T with shot rings has better compression. Might want to validate your gauge is working properly...

Arty did it at Ohiosteva with his gauge. It was on a cold dry engine too... So I'm sure if I let it warm up or something it would be within spec. But yea that is low, worst I've owned, other than this I had a 240k engine that came up around 160-165 psi all the way across. There's no telling how long it sat in the junk yard, so we're thinking piston rings are gummed up. what bothers me is that when I first got it the thing ran GREAT. It's just started running like this right before the weather started turning....I guarantee you it'll still smoke a b3 easy tho.

My auto was reading about 1/4 at all times on coolant temp last winter.. did absolutely nothing but put the two-stager in. Went from 27 average to 29, same driving styles, same outside weather temp. Temp gauge stayed at 1/3+ all winter long.

The two stage restricts the coolant flow to allow for a longer heat soak.
Good for Wisconsin winters. Not good for driving to Vegas from L.A. in August. at high noon.

It's been a couple weeks, the new thermostat didn't help or hurt anything, but I'm back to 28 mpg.

The compression came up after the first seafoam treatment. I've done another intake treatment+a piston soak dropping 1oz of seafoam in each plug hole with a turkey baster and letting it sit overnight. Haven't checked comp since round two but it's noticAbly smoother, I almost feel like it revs too smooth and I'm gonna blow something up haha..

Power is down, I won't say it's b3 crappy, but it feels like it's lagging and I can no longer let off the clutch, ease to 3k in first, smash the petal and break the wheel/s loose.

              Any ideas?

I suppose I could do that, worth a shot. It's set at 9* right now, do you think freeing up the rings and cleaning the chambers up would have caused this? It was running great at 9* before, better than 10, but I'm willing to try anything... Should I go for 12 or stick with 10?

add 2* and see where it gets you. i know i run 14* on scrappy when he's getting high test, then back it down to 8* for 89 oct.
