the load compensation screw is adjusted too far. either that or the metered air bleed for the load comp is broken allowing an unmetered amount of air into the intake.Trees aren't kind to me...

not doing yourself any favors by not knowing about your 24 year old car. load comp screw is located on the driver side of the carb, under the cable linkage. it's a philips head screw and if you have enough dexterity, you should be able to use your fingers to adjust it. it sits BELOW the choke step plate.
look at the picture: bottom right corner, just above the red wire, that's your idle load comp screw.Trees aren't kind to me...

Hello Festyboy. I see you are already a member of the 10000 club. While I am soon to become a member of the 5000 club. Don't worry, I have no ambitions on ever catching up to you. I would add that, we both share a membership in the twin carb club.
This is what granny needs + an adapter.Last edited by bravekozak; 10-29-2013, 08:39 PM.

possibly, but a simpler solution may give the desired results, it may just be an adjustment issue.Trees aren't kind to me...

That carb is one of 2 needed for the twin carb intake off a laser in Australia. Everything to mount it needs to be custom.Trees aren't kind to me...

chuck55: My carburetted 89 does that. Turning on headlights at idle increased engine speed. Somewhere in the Haynes manual it says that's to increase alternator speed to increase electrical power for increased elecrical load.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.
