There is what appears to be a sensor that screws directly into the radiator. Is that for the temperature gauge? I had to pull the radiator and broke the wires to that off. Can it be repaired or does it have to be replaced? :dontknow:

I believe its the sensor that controls the cooling fan, if you have a soldering iron you could probably do a quick repair. If the sensor looks old and corroded, I would probably just replace it and grab a new pig tail from the junkyard.2002 Ford Mustang GT Mineral Grey 5 spd

Are you talking about a Festiva or Aspire? I'm thinking its a coolant level sensor. The fan sensor is in the thermostat housing. At least that's what my book says.Last edited by Team Lightning; 11-14-2013, 01:24 AM.Jerry

The bottom sensor must not be too important, whatever it is. The two new (aftermarket, eBay) rads I got were complete minus that sensor. It hasn't caused me any ill-effects.
I believe no new rad comes with this sensor, though I could be wrong.

Spike, you are correct!
Floyd, you dont have to bother to replace the sensor, like Spike stated, it really is not needed. I have an aftermarket rad and doesnt have the sensor. Everything is fine without it.Dan

Is this what your sensor looks like?
I have a new one for $5 + shipping for you.
I will include two new open barrel terminals + boots.
This will allow you to professionally reterminate the broken wires.
If you think you can get away without the sensor, then good luck.Last edited by bravekozak; 11-14-2013, 07:02 AM.
