All you have to do is loosen the three screws on the circuit board and push it either up or down. Then retighten. That will give it a new groove to run in. Just done it , works great.

Also if anybody has any problem with there car not running unless u jump over the fuel pump test plug then pop open your vaf. There is a little copper bar that springs over and makes contact to turn on your fuel pump. Mine wasn't so springy anymore. Just bend the contact point closer to the copper bar that moves. It's the first thing on the bottom you see.

Does moving gthe groove spot change the air fuel ratio at all or is that another aspect, a different surgery?

Sorry no pics, I've already siliconed it back together. As far as changing the air /fuel ratio I doubt it. It just gives the arm a fresh place to run on. I found a very informative video on YouTube. I'll try and find it.

I tried to find it but am having no luck which is strange because I just watched it two days ago . It also showed how you could pop off that little cap on the side of the vaf and adjust a screw to lean it out or richer it. He highly recommended using some kind of special tool though.

It would technically change it, whether you notice it or not. It follows an arc, so it would create a longer or shorter arc. So longer should create a leaner overall curve, and shorter should create a richer overall curve. Again, whether or not this actually makes a difference, I have no idea. But physically that is what it would do, because the longer arc starts the contact farther away from the end of the track and causes it to move less than stock per movement of the flapper. And of course the reverse with the shorter arc.

It probably makes so little difference that it will never matter.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.

sounds solid to me I assume one of those worn out coupled with the throttle position sensor that's not making all the contacts would make for a car with a really crappy personality
