this is less probable but since the blower wheel is the first component in the intake airflow, it's possible that the concave blades caked up with years of dust/dirt to where they are no longer scooping the air but just paddling it. you'll still get air, just not as much as you could. the blower wheel is just like the one in a house furnace. it's easy to remove from under the dash to inspect and clean. if the blades are caked up, just get a popsicle stick or something similar and scrape the crud out of each blade.

Hey bravekozak... Thanks for the info. Got my heater core flushed out yesterday and heat is working fine. Appreciate the helpful insight. Also took out my seats and blew out and vacuumed interior. Now on to the alternator. Drove my '91 to town last night and new battery went dead. Oh well. More grief to take from the old lady cause I've been spending so much time working on my Festivas.

Take her out for dinner and dance. Make sure you have at least three long stemmed roses. Then charge your new battery with a slow 2 amp charge. Use the search engine to find replacement alternators from other cars.Last edited by bravekozak; 12-16-2013, 12:20 PM.
