I read that on other mazda engines, the 2.2 and v6's for example, this piece that is threaded into the block can be removed. The owners then have the option of adding a jeep piece that converts metric to the chrysler. I tried with a rag+pliers halfhearted on my spare b3 but didn't heat it up or pb blaster it first or anything, for about 10 seconds i tried but I didn't want to damage the threads. REASON: i have two different high dollar oil coolers that are dodge/toyota/ford application so it would be nice to either implement one of those, or be able to use the 20+ oil filers I've hoarded. I dont own anything else with honda/mazda oil filter threads anymore.
