My auto is 3 plug, my 93 manual is 2 plug, YMMV. If you need to know for your car, and it is accessible, you can see the plugs by looking under the dash. For reference, if you take the drivers side front speaker grille and speaker(if there is one) you can see the top of the ECU. Look under the dash in the same spot, and you see the two or three) big connectors sort of behind the fuse box.
My auto is 89. Let me say, I have an ECU labeled automatic that I picked up a while back here in the house that is 3 plug, and IIRC my 89 is 3 plug. I Guarantee my 93 is 2 plug.

The 89 auto is the odd ball. all 90+ ECUs are the same (as Greg said). The carb'd "ECUs" are the same and are 3 plug. If you have an 89 auto you need an 89 auto ECU, which is also 3 plug but not the same as carb ECU (naturally!).
