Changed head gasket, now hesitation and power loss.

Hey guys, finished the head gasket on my 1991 Festiva a week ago and haven't been able to drive it around much yet because it has some strange hesitation when starting off or shifting, and a severe lack of power under acceleration.

I'm hitting you guys up in case it rings a bell with anyone after having their motor apart. Could I have left something unplugged?

Cam timing is dead on, distributor timing is untouched.

Plugs wires crossed ? It's very easy to get that belt on a couple teeth off and engine will still run but with this same result . Good luck

Have you checked compression numbers after the gasket replacement?

Sounds like timing. Triple check your timing marks line up

Timing was off a tooth.
