That cylinder wall looks fine........is that really bad place on the piston where the gasket was blown ? [was it blown?] I have one with 250k on it .Comment

The gasket actually looked fine around that cylinder there was some leakage in the front driver side... I have seen blown rings and cracked pistons but never a chunk out like that one...Originally posted by denguy View Post1991 Festiva!!! Bone stock for now...

That kinda looks like the piston out of my 80K motor that backfired after it sat for several yrs. and yours does look worse for sure.
I was there when this one was started and backfired. I'm surprised it ran for 10K as it had 70K on it when it was started and backfired.
