  • axle popped out

so I put a rio axle in my bp car and all looked good. seemed like there was a good fit for the axle and it was in tight to the trans and hub..... but I was driving it yesterday and it popped out of the trans side.... wth? now all of a sudden its like its 1.5" to short. any suggestions to what happened here? my friend is going to cut it and sleeve it today if there is no solution that he can find.

What side ? Engine mount break ? What size tires ? Suspension height ? Loose ball joint ?
New build on the way .

Are you sure that your mounts have the trans positioned in the right spot and not too far to the drivers side?

everything is tight and clean, just fixed the motor mount, 165/65/13, suspension is all stock aspire, it was on the trans side.

All stock aspire , if springs are not cut then it's sitting higher then stock . Stock aspire ball joints as well ?
Front pulley is a finger width away , single pulley or a/c . Maybe get some pictures ?

no cut springs and yes aspire lca's and ball joints. single pully with no accessory pully on it. ill post a pic later. so you think if I cut some coils it will settle? I ran it with the capri axles for years till the cv went bad so I jus decided to do the rio axle. I thought the rio axle was longer and people were scared of it binding up at first

                      axle popped out

If you keep the aspire lca's you'll always have axle issues unless your running capri brakes

its back in working order now, hydro conversion done, jus went ahead and rebuilt the xr2 axle and used the jackshaft so I waisted money on the rio one -_- lca's swapped. now jus needs lowered, fender rolled to get those 13x8s under and I still need to snag an egt speedo cable but until then I gotz my gps haha
