  • loss in power.

Ok so my car has been acting Up when I'm at a steady 55 on my way to work it every once in a while it will feel like someone reached over and turned off my key. Just for 1-2 seconds top then it's back to normal and 8 can't re create it. It's only happen a few times in the past week sometimes I will do it twice a day and other times I will be fine for 2 day hour each way to work.

Things I have done in the past 5000 miles is
    New plugs (ngk copper core)
    New wires (ngk blue performance)
    New distributor cap (cheapo)
    New rotor (cheapo)
    New o2 sincer (denso)
    New fuel filter.
Things I have checked all ground s cleaned from capri harness (engine).
Also I don't have any codes present but iac witch I have unplugged. .
O and I also swaped out the fuel presser regular selinoid.
    Didn't help.

I should have mentioned that I have the b6d from a mercury capri. With all the wiring from the capri.
All capri electronics have about 250 xxx .
40 xxx or so on rebuild and 300xxx or festy.

Any help would be appreciated I need I place to look for the problem.
Could it be fuel pump ? Afm ? Disty? .
I would not be worried about this problem but I commute 120 ish miles per day to work and I Don't Want It to leave me setting along side the road.

Intermittent stalling. I've had something similar from an old original ignition coil. If not would look to ignition module. Some parts stores will test either for free.

Ok I will check into that.
As far as I know the coil is original.
I'll have to see if any local parts stores will test these thanks.

Does the alternator cut out? fuel pump cut out? Maybe get a volt gauge from harbor freight to see if the the volts drop? does it happen when the gas tank is a 1/4 or lower?

I haven't noticed a drop in volts but happens so fast I haven't really been able to see..
I fill up and run it down to 1/4 tank or so and it's been doing it threw out the tank.
No idea how to tell of the pump kicks out .
O one more question is there any other coil alternative I can use the capri coil is 50 some from auto zone I can get one for about 25 on rock auto. .
I have use my coil from my car on a 91 f 150 with 302 to get it home plugged in and ran but I'm unsure if it would be safe to run long term.

Text me address and I'll send you a coil ! But I believe it's the vaf . I can also send one of those as well .
But make sure there is no water/oil in the plug holes .
New build on the way .

Update on this problem or no problem
It's been 3 days since it's acted up.
I have no idea what's going on but I'm not gonna trow any parts at it if it's not acting up.

Cheapest would be to check the fuses on the driver's side fender to see if power getting to coil. People report good results cleaning fuse contacts or replacing with newer style fuse. (Havent' changed fuses on mine yet although I did pull some out of a car at the junk yard last summer. Procrastinator! ) If still no curent from coil that would be the logical one to replace first. Car parts cost more here in Canada and I paid about $45 for a coil last fall.

Well coil just test out in speck on the line on the primary side but I believe it to be good what's next? Pick up or icm?
Autozone tested my coil but had no specks on the icm.
OK so I just got home pulled the plug from the icm broke it a little it was very brittle. It was also was a little croded I cleaned it the best I could and it fired up ran for a min than died than would just crank I wiggled it and u fired back up. So I was wiggling around on it and couldn't get it to act up so I unplugged it it ran for a few seconds than died no it just cranks what's up with that?

I'm kinda thing that me "cleaning" the icm connecter was just a
Quiddence . I can't get it to fire at all now.
I had this happen on a 87 f 150 sometimes it would just crank And crank and sometimes it would fire right up ended up being a coil so that's what I'll try I guess any body know if a festy coil can be wired in?

Specks on the capri coil are
                          Primary .6-1.0
                          Secondary 9.68-13.31
Anyone know the specks for the festy coil.
And if it will work. Local places want 60+ dollars for one and can't have one till Monday and that won't work I have to work Monday and that's my only ride.

                            Ok so festiva specks are.
                            .4-1.4 primary
                            10.0k-15.5k secondary.
I'm no ignition expect will this work with out hurting any of the other ignition partd?
This will be temporary if I do it till I can get one from rock auto.

Well it runs I'm using the festiva coil and it runs great.
Even fixed the strange idle I've been fighting for 2 year sense the engine swap.
