  • Main fusible link for 1990 Festiva - Help!

The 25 amp main fusible link went out in my 1990 Festiva when I accidentally got the + & - briefly REVERSED while installing the battery (hope nothing else went out when I did this!).

I found one at the local junk yard in a Festiva in the center slot of the fuse block but it wasn't Red like the one I blew. The covering on this wire is gray and it is stamped on the insulation "2.0 SQ. mm fusible link". Does anyone know if this is the proper size (25 amp) for my 1990 Festiva? Can't recall the year of the one at the junkyard

Replace it with a green pal fuse.
The to on the outside can be replaced with pink pal fuses.

After doing a little Google searching, I do see that a 2.0 SQ mm fusible link is 14 gauge stranded wire. Does this sound about right to use as the 25 amp main fusible link??

Check out the picture. Get Pink-Green-Pink. While you are at it, wire wheel the terminals.

Just make sure to buy the ones with long legs.
