You'll only know about rich fuel mixture when you fill up and calculate fuel economy. The pump in fact is supposed to run much of the time as the fuel system has a fuel return loop back to the gas tank. Humming pumps are common with the aftermarket jobs that have to be adapted to fit the mounting bracket and consequently don't have adequate vibration/sound damping. The Delphi version I had to jury-rig a couple of years ago worked fine but sounded like a hive of angry bees inside the car! I was only too happy to find an excuse to throw that out when the time came.Comment
