Here's a question on this topic that I've always wondered. Once a knuckle has been set up correctly with the spacer (as in, from the factory), if you put a new set of bearings in, can you be confident that the same spacer will work? In 20+ years of doing brakes on Festivas, I've only replaced bearings once, and used the spacers that went with each side, but I always wondered if I'd just been lucky. (Presumably, if the tolerances on the new bearings are the same as original, this would be a given, but I'm not all that confident that they actually are.)

Yes, they will be good after 20+ yrs. They don't have wear on them, they just space the bearing for preload.Dan

NSK JL69349 Japan Are thes the original front wheel bearings?
Been wondering.. When I take a steering knuckle apart and find this (Japan NSK JL69349) printed on the bearings, are these the original bearings and does this indicate the knuckle has probably never been disassembled since it was new?
And we're still waiting to hear about the Play Dough trick?
Just found this:

It's a small world after all.Last edited by 1990new; 07-19-2017, 11:30 AM.
