  • ECU questions?

Hi, just done a B6e swap from an 89 tracer. Got the air flow, motor, and ecu. Engine was missing the distributor, used the festys...ok? Went to put in the ecu last, on my 1990 festy (auto trans) and the 2-plug dont match the 89 tracer 3-plug. Every place i call to find one are all 3-plug. wired the festy ecu to the injector harness..idles smooth, has no power at all. Did get an 89 tracer distributor but no point in switching if i cant find the right ecu..yes? Done a B6T swap on my other festy but got flustered on the wiring and had to have help Do i have to bite the bullet and have someone help wire the 3-plug ecu or do they make a 2-plug that will plug right in?

tony, I am sure this question has been asked and answered before.
Be sure to add your location to your profile and use the search box at the right top of the page. Be sure to use double quotes for an exact phrase such as, "2-plug ECU"

Tony I belive you have to get the b61k 2nd Gen b6 ecu .
But if guys can run the 1.6 dohc (b6d) on all festiva electronics than why can't you do the same with the b6 sohc?
The only non festiva thing used is the injectors with the b6d.
I'm running a b6d but With all the Capri electronics.
According to advanceddynamics on the forum the b6d and b3 have very similar fuel maps and even Rev limits . If I remember correctly his friend is running a b6d on festiva electronics and runs as well as with Capri electronics.
I would like to see a dyno run comparing the 2 or 3 different engines.
By the way welcome to the forum!
      Let's see the festiva!

Have you ever used a terminal extractor tool? You can simply remove the terminals from one connector, rearrange them or pop them into another connector. You can snip connectors off at the junk yard and they usually don't charge for them. You only need to buy some terminals if you intend add some wiring. I buy mine from easternbeaver.com. Great selection of original Japanese terminals.
