charging system issues

My bp car keeps killing batteries so I swapped the alt and still did it then i put a good batt in and fired rite up. So i drove it and parked it then it would not start again! What other components are part of the charging systems that could be causing this?

It sounds as though you have a parasitic draw.

Mine was because the belt wasnt tight enough so it wasnt properly charging the battery.

If it was too tight it would screech.. make sure the belt is tracking straight. Also, what bracket/bolts/nuts are you using to keep the alt in place?

Im using a festiva alt, dont know what belt, bp bracket but yes the belt is loose

Does it work fine all the time if you unhook the battery every time you park it?

Check your grounds. No such thing as going over board on grounds.

thanks everyone for your input and mr defprun was the winner! it was the belt, they sold me a belt that included other accessories so it was to big so I asked if there were other options and boom there was one for crank/water pump/alternator. now she fits snug.... but.... I broke my vics solenoid prying pressure on the alt with a bar oh well ill hit up the jy
